UPEI To Host Graduate Research Conference

The University of Prince Edward Island is hosting a Multidisciplinary Graduate Research Conference this summer. The theme of the conference is, “Emerging Scholars: Illuminating Graduate Research.” It will offer graduate students across Canada the opportunity to present their graduate research, attend skill-building workshops, and participate in dialogue and discussion between and within disciplines. All with the pretty great backdrop of a PEI summer.

The multi-disciplinary approach encourages researchers to meet others outside their field. “It is a good way to open connections between people and ideas – a cross-pollination,” says former CAGS board member and UPEI Chemistry professor, Brian Wagner.

“We’re opening this up to graduate students across the country to highlight the diversity of programs and research going on,” says Brittany Jakubiec, conference chair and vice-president of the 400-member UPEI Graduate Students’ Association.

Interested in making a presentation? Abstracts will be accepted until June 10,2015.

Conference proceedings will be published winter 2016.
